Mining plays a significant role in sustainable development in Zimbabwe. It accounts for at least 60% of export earnings. BNC recognises the significance of its operations to the economic success of our country. As such, we pay close attention to value maximisation in our nickel extraction and value chains. BNC is one of the major economic hubs in Bindura and Mashonaland Central Province. It provides jobs by directly employing more than 1 000 people and indirectly, many more thousands through various suppliers of inputs and services. At the national level, BNC generates foreign currency for the country at an annual average of USD60 million. We believe that the economic value we create is playing a huge role in improving the quality of life for local communities in Bindura and Zimbabweans at large.
