Bindura Nickel Corporation (BNC) manages its environmental responsibilities in a systematic manner that contributes to the environmental pillar of sustainability.

As expressed in the organization’s Safety, Health and Environmental Policy, BNC aims to:

• Demonstrate active stewardship and land and biodiversity.
• Promote good relationships with and enhance capabilities of the local communities.

BNC has an ISO14001:2015 certified environmental management system.

The ISO 14001:2015 standard specifies the requirements for an environmental management system that the organization uses to enhance its environmental performance.

Implementation of the management system at BNC ensures that environmental performance is enhanced, compliance obligations are fulfilled, and environmental objectives are achieved, thereby providing value for the environment, the organization itself and respective interested parties.

BNC has an ISO 45001:2018 certified occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system.

Implementation of the management system enables BNC to continual improve its OH&S performance.

As expressed in the organization’s Safety, Health and Environmental Policy, BNC aims to:

• Prevent or minimize work-related injuries and health impairment of employees and contractors,
• Contribute to addressing priority community health issues.

BNC considers the needs and expectations of workers and interested parties.

Hazards, risks, and opportunities associated with its activities are managed to support the achievement of zero harm.

Testing service at BNC are provided by an on-site internal laboratory.

Test results issued are used by respective clients in estimation of ore reserves and resources, process control and well as metal accounting.

Services provided by the Laboratory enable sound and effective decision making leading to benefits for all BNC stakeholders.

Understanding the importance of its service to the organization, BNC has designed the laboratory’s management system in line with the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard, which outlines the general requirements for the competent, impartial, and consistent operation of laboratories.

The Laboratory was accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 in 2019, thereby promoting confidence in testing work, as well as improving mutual recognition of test results and international trade.
